Halloween Treat Basket Knitting Pattern | MK Crafts UK
Make a Halloween treat basket you can bring out year after year. 🎃
The MK Crafts Knitted Treat Basket – KNTHWN 002 is a satisfying knitting project with a clever construction and a beautiful hidden detail.
The basket begins with just eight stitches and is worked from the centre out. Regular KFB increases create eight raised lines across the base, forming the distinctive star-shaped structure shown in the pattern.
Once the base is complete, the increases stop and the knitting naturally turns upwards to form the sides of the basket. A garter-stitch border gives the opening extra structure and helps prevent curling, while a separately knitted ribbed handle completes the design.
The finished basket measures approximately 24 cm across the base and 15 cm high, with an approximately 30 cm handle. The sample uses less than one 100 g ball of DK yarn, and the pattern specifies one 100 g ball.
The pattern includes full round-by-round instructions for creating the base, along with guidance for the body, top edge, handle, assembly, finishing and customisation.
Although this version belongs to the MK Crafts Halloween Collection, the finished basket doesn't have to disappear after Halloween. Change the colours or add embroidery, duplicate stitch, appliqué or other embellishments to create baskets for Christmas, Easter, birthdays, gifts or everyday storage.
